United States District Court

As Federal Courthouses around the country
became overcrowded, and the requirements
for additional Judges and courtrooms con-
tinued to grow, a move to put Courts and
Judges Chambers into existing highrise office
buildings was an important prototype for the
country.

The solution, which is a transitional design,
bridges well between the demands of this
first class modern highrise and the tra-
ditional Courtroom required by most Judges.
The raised ceilings with cove lighting and
careful detailing of material allows the court-
rooms to have a spacious feel while staying
within the bounds of the office building struc-
tural systems.
