Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Center

FAL was selected to design this prototype
30,000 s.f. Mandatory Arbitration Center as a
model nationwide for other court systems.
This showcase facility includes hearing rooms,
chambers, administrative offices, and public
facilities constructed in an existing, renovated
highrise office building.

Indirect illumination washes the lowered 
corridor ceilings which contain air distribution
to the high ceiling courtrooms.  Seating, 
conferral and lounge areas are generously
spotted along major corridors to provide relief
and manage traffic flow.  Security concerns
were addressed by video monitoring of public
circulation areas.
